Bringing Nutrition and Skin Science Together

Posted on 9 November 2016

Over the past couple of months, the team at Haven have been undergoing advanced training so we can help our clients treat their skin concerns from the outside and the inside.  Needless to say, we are very excited!

Miss Vitality is a range of naturopathic, practitioner-grade supplements that have been developed with skin specific nutrients to help heal, strengthen and reduce inflammation in the skin.

Founder, Pamela Zakoselsky, a naturopath of 15 years, has spent much of her career specialising in the effects of oxidative stress within our body, Pam’s research highlighted the crippling effects that toxins and stress has on our wellness and longevity, and as a direct result, the effect that it has on our skin.

High acidity in the body causes premature aging. High stress levels, environment, lack of healthy food preparation all deplete our system and we become less energised, out of balance, moody, lack inspiration and loose the glow from our skin.

With these findings Miss Vitality was developed; a wellness movement that represents nourishment on a cellular level protecting our cells from the damages we face within our environment, the food we eat and stress levels from every day demands.

Why do we need extra nutrients?

Modern life is so busy and we expect so much of ourselves. Many of us have demanding jobs and busy family lives, which means we simply run out of time to take care of ourselves. Being time-poor leads to stress - combine this with the way modern society operates and there are several factors that contribute to our bodies needing extra nutritional support:

  • We are not always able to make time for good food preparation
  • A diet poor in nutrients through highly processed, fatty or refined foods causes increased toxic load in our bodies
  • Our plant sources of foods are grown in soils with diminished nutrients
  • Lack of excercise and even excessive excercise
  • Too much alcohol and smoking increase acidity in the body
  • Tea and coffee with high levels of caffeine can interfere with the absorbtion and excretion of important minerals
  • Stress levels require increased supplements including B vitamins, resveratrol, EFAS, magnesium and calcium.

We know our skin needs additional nutritional support, but with so many different supplements available, it can be confusing and difficult to know if they do what they say they will do. We can’t all be naturopaths so we’ve done the research to take the guess work out for you.
